About UsSan Luis FC First formed in 2007 and registered to play in the U.S.A. - MEXICO SOCCER LEAGUE under the name : St. Charles / Mt. Caramel. The team that consisted of only friends that played only scrimmage games daily got of to rocky start and managed to end the season in 7th place after only forming just a few weeks after the season had started.
The team won their first Championship trophy, as they won the Post-Season Tournament consisting of teams that fell short of qualifying to regular season playoffs. Motivated and excited to play the following 2008 season, the team wasted no time in getting ready and practice every single day for 3 - 4 hours non-stop until late hours of the night. Every single day they would practice right after school and practice hard until it was pitch dark and all that was able to be seen was the ball very lightly.
They wasted no time and added any new talent that was interested in playing with the goal to get even further than the previous year they made sure to demand highly competitive requirements to play on the team. It was also during that time that by the luck of faith that Rene F. Morales who is one of the founders of the team came across a coach through the recommendation of his dad Rene Morales Sr. The Coach would prove to be a very valuable and key asset to the team as he had years of experience coaching in Mexico for various Academy teams. The coach not only brought his vast experience to the table, but also his son who had previous experience playing in Mexico at a Semi-Pro level. Both the newly acquired coach and player were also from San Luis Potosi, Mexico and supported the name change to San Luis FC. Once everything was in place and after having played a couple of shaky games before the newly found acquisitions, Don Pedro and his son assisted their first game to play with San Luis FC things started turning around for the better. Throughout the season the team went from a struggling low ranking team to becoming one of the Top 5 teams in the league. The team managed to pickup and keep a 9 game winning streak which slowly but surely earned a ticket to their first playoffs in the 2008 Summer Season. Present and Future...
After the heartbreaking 2009 season, San Luis FC went to continue playing and winning several other championships in other Leagues of different formats and divisions including Indoor Men's Division and Women's Division. After several years of playing and a 2 year absence, San Luis FC is looking to make a come back and return just as strong or stronger than before. This time with a new goal and purpose which is not only of winning another Championship but also to develop players and help them achieve their goals weather it is playing Pro, Semi-Pro, Academy, Club, or simply just improve and get better than when they first entered the team. San Luis FC is currently in the process of putting together another group of players and this time aiming for fresh younger talent to be able to compete much quicker against some of the strongest teams out there. |
After qualifying to playoffs, San Luis FC encountered the previous season's Champions Real Zacatecas. In a very intense and emotional game, San Luis FC was able to beat and eliminate Real Zacatecas, to move on and reach the Finals to face a season un-defeated San Marcos.
After a grueling and close emotional match, San Luis FC emerged victorious with a final score of 4-2 and lifted it’s first ever Summer Championship Trophy. After a managerial change and no one stepping up or taking initiative to lead the team, all the returning players looked to Rene F. Morales to be the new Coach and official team representative responsible for making decisions on and off the field on behalf of the team. From that point forward the team name was changed to San Luis FC before the start of the 2009 season.
Once the season started, the team did not lose a competitive step as they established themselves as one of the main teams to beat. San Luis FC did go on to play the Final against now "Classic Rival" Real Zacatecas, but after a very close match and in what seem San Luis was moments away from claiming the Championship once again, a late last min goal in the 2nd half of injury time by Real Zacatecas forced the game into PK's where San Luis FC ended with an unfortunate loss to end their 2009 season.
